(March 13, 2017 - Annapolis, Md.) – The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Nykidra L. Robinson as its Special Events Manager. Robinson comes to the Maryland Chamber bringing over a decade of experience working in local and state government.

Robinson joins the Chamber staff as an accomplished businesswoman – the CEO and founder of Black Girls Vote, Inc. and chief consultant with NyRise Consulting Group. Prior to her current ventures, Robinson was a fund development consultant for the Greater Baltimore Urban League, special assistant to the secretary for the Department of Housing and Community Development, executive consultant for Kevin Liles for a Better Baltimore, director of outreach for Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and a neighborhood liaison for the mayor’s office in Baltimore City during Sheila Dixon’s administration.

Robinson, with her years of experience in both the public and private sectors, brings a unique skill set to her new position with the Maryland Chamber. From developing and implementing innovative events, programs and outreach opportunities for Black Girls Vote, Inc. to formulating strategic solutions while paying attention to a client’s wishes and capabilities. She is equally adept at cultivating and nurturing successful and productive relationships with community members, elected officials, stakeholders, official bodies and sponsors as she is organizing important events in the pressure-packed world of the lieutenant governor’s office.

A dynamic leader with event planning and stakeholder relationship management experience, Robinson will certainly bring her entrepreneurial spirit and a consultant’s attention to detail to the Chamber, the leading voice for business in Maryland.

Nyki earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration from Frostburg State University. Upon graduation, Nyki was accepted into an international education program in Beijing where she studied international business and Mandarin.
