Feb 14, 2024

February 7 officially declared Chamber of Commerce Day in Maryland

Recently, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Maryland Chamber Federation hosted the inaugural Chamber Advocacy Day in Annapolis, where leaders from chambers of commerce, trade associations and businesses throughout the state gathered to meet with legislators on critical policies impacting Maryland's economic competitiveness.

"We're thrilled Governor Wes Moore officially declared Feb. 7, 2024 Chamber of Commerce Day — a testament to our Maryland Chamber Federation partners, whose collective advocacy efforts make a difference in strengthening our state for business and communities,” said Mary Kane, President & CEO of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. "Thank you to Comptroller Brooke Lierman and Senator Steve Hershey for speaking and engaging with us during this important day, and a thank you to the dozens of leaders and policymakers who took part in important meetings and conversations regarding policies important to Maryland’s diverse business community.”

Over a dozen chamber executives representing thousands of businesses came together. Their focus included conveying business priorities on proposals surrounding taxes, infrastructure, paid leave, streamlined regulations and more. Meetings enabled candid conversations on strengthening Maryland's pro-business climate while opposing bills that risk economic growth.
