Bill Summary: The bill prohibits all moneys in the Maryland Clean Air Fund from reverting or being transferred to the General Fund; increases the maximum amount of a specified fee; eliminates the cap on a specified fee; and removes obsolete language and making stylistic changes.

Chamber Position: Oppose

Position Summary: This legislation would significantly raise permit fee costs, which would greatly hurt power generators and large manufacturers, in particular. It eliminates a $200,000 cap, and establishes a nominal increase per ton.

For these reasons, the Maryland Chamber opposes this bill.
