Note About the Tech Tax: The Maryland Chamber, working with allied business organizations, achieved a significant victory in repealing the impending sales tax on computer services (SB 46). The repeal of this tax was a priority for the Maryland Chamber and will help preserve technology jobs in Maryland . We have not listed SB 46 on our key vote list because the Maryland Chamber advocated a different funding source than the three-year 6.25 percent income tax bracket for individuals with incomes of over $1 million and the five-year diversion of $50 million per year in transportation revenues included in the bill.
