A group of Howard County high school students will compete with teen entrepreneurs from across the country in the 2017 Junior Achievement National Student Leader Summit in Washington, DC.

Annapolis, Md. – The Rural Maryland Council and its membership convened Monday, November 28, 2016 for its Annual and Executive Board Meeting at Quiet Waters Park, Blue Heron Center. In addition to providing an overview of upcoming events and activities for 2017, the Rural Maryland Council also held its annual Rural Impact Awards Ceremony to honor advocates for rural Maryland communities.

Harbor Bank Community Development Corp., an arm of Baltimore-based Harbor Bank of Maryland, is helping area entrepreneurs nurture their businesses in an effort to improve the economic stability of Baltimore neighborhoods.

Morgan State University was awarded a five-year, $2 million grant from the United Negro College Fund for a new program designed to improve employment outcomes for graduates.

In a first for the Baltimore-based brand, Chamber member Under Armour will outfit all Major League Baseball players beginning in 2020.

Employees at Choptank Transport spent the week of Thanksgiving collecting, assembling and delivering holiday dinners to approximately 300 families in need in the tri-county area.  

McCormick & Co. will acquire Italian flavorings company Enrico Giotti SpA for $127 million.  The company plans to close the sale in December.

Under Armour and Living Classrooms Foundation opened a renovated and expanded East Baltimore community center - UA House at Fayette - on Tuesday. The non-profit Living Classrooms Foundation will offer programs to children and families in nearby neighborhoods and schools.

Baltimore, Md. – The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation (CRSF) and Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) today broke ground at the future site of Eddie Murray Field at BGE Park in West Baltimore. Recognizing the need for change within the Baltimore community, the Ripken Foundation and BGE will develop the Youth Development Park to provide youth in the West Baltimore community with mentorship through sports and recreation.
