Small Business of the Year
Awards
The Small
Business of the Year Awards program is designed to recognize the
dedication, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit displayed by
Maryland's small businesses.
Self nominations are encouraged.
Nominees must be a member of the state or a local chamber of commerce,
have a permanent business location with employee(s) in Maryland, and
have been in operation for a minimum of two years.
The judging
panel for the awards program is comprised of representatives of
Maryland's business media including the Baltimore and Washington
Business Journals, The Business Gazette (Montgomery, Prince George's and
Frederick Counties), Baltimore Smart CEO and Maryland Public Television.
Criteria upon which the nominees were judged include business and income
growth, innovation, community involvement, excellence in industry and
more. Finalists are announced in May and the winners are recognized
during the Maryland Chamber’s Annual Growing Business. Celebrating Success event, held
each June.
