Board Member Criteria:
- Be or become a Maryland Chamber of Commerce member in good standing
- C-suite or senior executive position in member organization
- Ability to serve a one- or three-year term
- Maryland residence and/or business operation
- Commitment to attend four two-hour board meetings annually
- Participation in new board orientation and full board retreat (June 2025)
- Ability to vote in a quorum
- Willingness to serve without compensation
Board Member Criteria:
As part of our commitment to ensuring diverse perspectives are heard and represented in shaping Maryland’s business future, we are especially seeking applicants from industries like aerospace, manufacturing, life sciences, information technology, defense, computational biology, quantum technology, as well as search and navigation.
We also encourage leaders from across Maryland, including Southern Maryland, Mountain Maryland and the Eastern Shore, to help ensure every corner of our state is represented in the important conversations shaping our economy.

Join leaders who have helped achieve successful advocacy for business-friendly legislation, strengthened regional business partnerships and enhanced economic competitiveness initiatives.
Nominate a leader. Submit nominations by March 1.
After nominations are received, selected nominees will be asked to complete a more detailed questionnaire to share their vision and qualifications for service.
