Maryland Chamber of Commerce Invites Nominations for Board of Directors

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland Chamber of Commerce seeks committed, action-oriented leaders poised to make a tangible impact on Maryland’s business landscape to serve on its distinguished Board of Directors. Nominations are being accepted through March 1, 2024, for the term beginning May 9, 2024.

Board members represent businesses across Maryland's diverse industries and regions, actively contributing to positioning the state as a leader in economic growth and regional competitiveness. Ideal candidates are dedicated to making a positive, lasting impact on Maryland, and creating an environment where all businesses and their communities can thrive.

"The Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in shaping Maryland's future success,” said Amir Ahmadzadeh, Vice Board Chair for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Board Nominating Committee. “I am excited to help identify passionate leaders who will help advance our mission and work to make Maryland a better place to live, work and grow a business.”

Nominations should be submitted by March 1, 2024, and individuals nominated must meet the following criteria: 

  • A Maryland Chamber of Commerce member in good standing 
  • Holds an executive leadership position in a member organization 
  • Ability to serve a one- or three-year term of service
  • Availability to attend at least four two-hour board meetings per year, along with a new board member orientation and full board retreat currently scheduled for June 18, 2024 
  • Ability to vote in a quorum 
  • Willingness to serve without compensation
