President & CEO Mary D. Kane has been honored with the Baltimore Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mary's unwavering commitment to advocating for Maryland businesses and fostering a more vibrant, business-friendly environment is truly inspiring. Through her leadership at the Maryland Chamber, she is driving transformative change and shaping a brighter future for our state. Her dedication to that throughout her lifetime is shown by a remarkable career spanning roles at the U.S. State Department, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and as Maryland's Secretary of State. We're proud to have her at the helm, working tirelessly to create a Maryland where all businesses and communities can thrive.

The BBJ presented this year's awards at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve on Aug. 1 with a ceremony that was preceded by a panel discussion that focused on the theme, "Be Bold." The panel members were: Aileen Eskildsen, CEO of Baltimore's Ellin & Tucker accounting firm; Gina Baker Chambers, president, MCB Real Estate; Shelley Lombardo, president, Evergreen Advisors LLC; Kimberly N. Prescott, founder, Prescott HR; and Kristi Smith, president, Maryland Region, Howard Hughes Corp. They shared insights into their successes, challenges and aspirations.
