The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is honored to congratulate our very own Whitney Harmel, vice president of membership & development, for being named one of this year’s ACCE 40 under 40 emerging leaders!
The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) is an organization dedicated to helping leaders of chambers of commerce succeed in making a difference in their communities. ACCE partners with chambers, organizations and businesses around the world to bring value and leadership to local communities.
Every year, ACCE showcases 40 emerging leaders within the chamber industry who have reached the highest standards of professional excellence and integrity, going above and beyond for their chamber and their community. During this trying time for all of us, these inspiring professionals, from a variety of roles and chambers across the country, have demonstrated creativity, dedication and commitment to identifying challenges and creating solutions. Developing new and innovative pathways for the chamber industry, the contributions made by these leaders have been significant and deserve recognition for the positive impacts they have had on the communities they serve.
As a vital member of the Maryland Chamber team for over three years, Whitney has made it her mission to understand best in class not-for-profit best practices, has illustrated true leadership command and has applied a sophisticated sales strategy to her work with fantastic financial success. She quickly realized the impact the Maryland Chamber could have on the daily operations of a business and developed new ways of supporting members through strategic alliances.
It’s only been one year since Whitney took personal responsibility for elevating our foundation’s cutting-edge Teacher Externship program. During that time her successes include digitizing the application process to attract over 200 teacher applicants in 30 days, establishing partnerships with top employers in Maryland, and raising over $170,000 in foundation revenue to support the Teacher Externship program.
Please join us in congratulating Whitney Harmel for achieving this national award from ACCE.
