With fewer than 100 employees, Brotman Financial Group has demonstrated exemplary dedication to its community in time, talent and treasure. Its commitment to philanthropy began with its founding in 2003, and since that time, the company has contributed nearly $250,000 to various organizations, not including scholarships and fundraising.
Brotman was the title sponsor of the Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Bowl-a-Thon fundraisers this year, contributing $10,000 and raising more than $250,000, while employees volunteered as staff at the events. Brotman’s partnership with Junior Achievement works to educate middle- and high school students in financial literacy, helping them understand finance in ways they may not learn in school.
Brotman Financial also served as title sponsor for the Maryland chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, providing $15,000 and staffing the route at all six walks around Maryland in September and October.
With a commitment to education, Brotman Financial Group pledged $75,000 to Stevenson University to be distributed in five $15,000 donations over five years. This funding will seed the Brotman Financial Group Emergency Scholarship, distributed to deserving rising juniors and seniors at Stevenson University who find themselves in unexpected economic hardship that threatens their ability to complete their degree.
In addition to financial contributions, the staff at Brotman Financial Group has volunteered for and supported charitable activities for the Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company and a dozen other organizations. Volunteerism is incentivized at Brotman with a full day of paid leave to use in volunteer service.
