Vehicles for Change
Founded in 1999, Vehicles for Change has awarded 6,900 cars to low-income families through their Car Award Program, changing the lives of more than 24,000 in the DMV region. Their efforts break down the barriers for many Maryland families to better jobs and greater income. According to a recent study, 75% of their recipients got better jobs and increased their average annual earnings by $7,000.
“Our Chamber membership has been a valuable asset for Vehicles for Change,” said President of Vehicles for Change Martin Schwartz. “We not only make valuable contacts but through our committee involvement, impact legislation that is key to the families we serve on a daily basis.”

Eleanor Goedeke
Director of Marketing & Communication
Eleanor joined the Maryland Chamber team in January 2021, and leads all marketing and communication efforts. Originally from Maryland, Eleanor spent that last ten years in St. Louis driving growth in the nonprofit sector through various organizations. One of her favorite quotes is by another Eleanor, Eleanor Roosevelt, who said “Do one thing that scares you everyday.”
