Competitiveness Coalition Continues Outreach Efforts

The 2014 General Assembly session has ended and the campaign season is kicking into high gear. The Maryland Competitiveness Coalition continues its outreach efforts to advance Maryland as a national and global leader in private sector job creation through innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. 

The coalition recently released its Vision and Action Plan for Maryland’s Future. Sixty organizations from across the State have united behind the vision: Maryland: Inventing Jobs, Enriching Lives. 

In pursuit of that vision, Coalition partners are working to create a stronger partnership between the State government and the employer community to create more private sector jobs and investment in Maryland in order to benefit all residents. Coalition leaders have met with the Gubernatorial candidates in anticipation of this year’s election, which will bring many changes. Maryland will have a new Governor, and it is expected that the General Assembly could see as much as 30 percent turnover in 2015. This presents an opportunity to promote our joint vision and action plan to newly elected leaders. 

“As campaign season heats up, we want to ensure Maryland’s competitiveness remains at top issue in every district throughout Maryland,” said Maryland Chamber President/CEO Kathy Snyder, CCE. “Our 60 coalition partners throughout the State are united behind a common vision to boost Maryland’s innovation economy, create jobs, and enrich the lives of all Marylanders.”
