DLA Piper announced that Keelan Diana, Jay Parker Buchanan and Michael Bakhama have joined the firm’s Baltimore office as associates.
Keelan Diana is a member of DLA Piper’s Litigation practice and is developing a broad-based practice in commercial litigation. She also represents clients in various pro bono matters, including providing free legal services to families, students and staff of certain Baltimore city schools as part of the firm’s national signature project, Advancing Education’s Promise. Diana received a J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law, an M.A. from Indiana University and a B.A. from Hamilton College.
Jay P. Buchanan is a member of DLA Piper’s Corporate and Securities group. He is developing a practice in a variety of corporate matters, including public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and other matters relating to general business and securities law. Before joining DLA Piper, Buchanan served as a legal intern at the Florida Elections Commission in Tallahassee. He received a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from Yale University.
Michael Bakhama is a member of DLA Piper’s Trusts and Estates practice. He is developing his broad-based practice in the area of estate planning, including the drafting and construction of wills and trusts, and issues related to federal wealth transfer taxation. He also handles various pro bono matters. Bakhama received a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law and a B.S., summa cum laude, from Towson University.
