Christine Ross, the president and CEO of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, has 20 years of leadership experience in the business community. She is a visionary coalition builder guiding the Maryland Chamber’s efforts to improve competitiveness, attract and retain talent, grow jobs, engage the community, and provide legislative advocacy.
As the voice for business statewide, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to addressing inequality of opportunity, both in and out of the workplace. In pursuit of that effort, the Maryland Chamber Foundation is proud to announce a new six-part webinar series showcasing best practices for promoting equity and inclusion. Each webinar will feature high-profile companies who are leaders in driving systemic change in their organizations and communities. The Chamber is pleased to host our first webinar, “The Business Imperative for Equity and Inclusion,” with representatives from BGE on July 20th, 2020 at 11 a.m.
BGE representatives participating in the panel include Steve Woerner, president, and COO; Rodney Oddoye, SVP governmental & external affairs; Frank Kelly, diverse business empowerment manager; and Danielle Bradshaw-Lee, director of security. This 60-minute webinar will consist of a 45-minute panel discussion and a 15-minute Q&A session moderated by Sandy Grace, vice president of governmental & external affairs.
Participants will learn how to advocate for and apply the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in their individual organizations. Panelists will discuss key insights from two programs at BGE – one focused on BGE’s dedication to working with diverse vendors and another on participation in the HeForShe global solidarity movement for women’s equality – that illustrate the tremendous positive impacts derived from developing programs to address inequality of opportunity in the workplace.
I urge you to consider the benefits this webinar may have for you and your organization. No matter the industry, diversity, and inclusion must be a business imperative—a core part of a company’s collective purpose. You won’t want to miss it. To register, click the button below.
