The Maryland Chamber Foundation is honored to host the statewide 2023 National Civics Bee competition on June 17, 2023 at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Organized in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s The Civic Trust and supported by four local chambers of commerce across Maryland, the National Civics Bee is an annual competition that encourages middle school students from public, private, charter and home schools to engage in civics, contribute to their communities and flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes.

The statewide National Civics Bee competition will be held in the James Weldon Johnson Auditorium, located on the Coppin State University Campus. After the competition, we will host an awards ceremony and luncheon for all participants and attendees in the J. Millard Tawes Center.
Both the auditorium and luncheon area are handicap accessible. Additionally, if you or a member of your party requires any specific accommodations, please do not hesitate to reach out to us in advance, and we will do our best to meet your needs.
Free parking will be available on the campus; parking locations and instructions will be shared with attendees as the event date nears. A passenger pick-up and drop-off area nearby the auditorium where the competition will be held will be available for temporary use before and after the event.
