The Maryland Business Philanthropy Awards program is a joint effort between the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the Baltimore Business Journal to recognize Maryland businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents of the state through their philanthropic efforts.
Companies that have provided outstanding support for local non-profits, 501(c)(3)s and/or schools are eligible. A panel of business and community leaders judge the nominees based on the extent of the service provided to the community, the impact on the community and the commitment the business has shown to the community over time. Judges also take into consideration the size of the business relative to their corporate giving.
One outstanding small (1-100 employees), medium (101-500 employees) and large (more than 500 employees) business each received an award.
