Blog | How partnerships between educators and industry can connect students to careers

The world of business and industry is forever changing. New technologies and innovations are a constant – new jobs, new fields, new ways of working and a variety of career pathways that, in some cases, did not exist a few years ago. Ensuring that the workforce of tomorrow is prepared for an ever-evolving job market is critical to building the pipeline of highly qualified employees that businesses need to continue their growth and success. An innovative and effective approach to prepare students for their future careers lies within partnerships between businesses and educators, like the Maryland Chamber Foundation’s Teacher Externship Program

Learn about this year’s program, which will pair a record 23 teachers from across the state with leading, innovative businesses for a four-week externship this summer.

Program Update | National Civics Bee

The 2023 National Civics Bee competition is underway at the local level!

Over the last several weeks, judges from the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce and the Howard County Chamber of Commerce have reviewed and evaluated essays submitted by Maryland middle school students from across the state, each selecting 20 local finalists to compete in their upcoming local Civics Bee competitions. The top three winners from each local competition will advance to compete in the Maryland Chamber Foundation’s live National Civics Bee competition, where students will showcase their civics knowledge and ideas in front of friends and family while competing for recognition and prizes.
Help us empower and inspire the next generation of leaders, voters, activists, entrepreneurs and problem solvers by sponsoring the 2023 National Civics Bee and helping to provide participants with technology, transportation, food and beverages and prizes for their participation.
