The deadline has passed for Maryland middle school students to enter the National Civics Bee. We are proud to report we had 98 students submit essays from 57 different zip codes all across the state in hopes of making it to the final round of competition!
The final round of competition in Maryland will be on May 7th at Bowie State University, with fantastic cash prizes for the top three winners, and technology for all ten finalists. Learn more about the event here.
Look for a formal announcement from us by the end of the month announcing our ten finalists and our panel of distinguished judges!

Program Update | Teacher Externship Program
As of now, we have 21 teachers who have accepted externships at Maryland businesses, ready to be part of our Teacher Externship Program this summer! Our staff continues to work to interview and place more Maryland educators with our business partner organizations to provide hands-on experience in industries related to the subjects they teach. The industry and technical knowledge teachers gain allow them to enhance their curriculum and educate their students on both the hard and soft skills required to enter the workforce and obtain a livable-wage career.
