Governor Larry Hogan to Deliver Keynote at ‘State of the State’ Virtual Event
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Maryland Chamber of Commerce will host State of the State presented by Bank of America, a virtual event on February 17, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Following two panel discussions addressing economic and public health trends by key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, Governor Larry Hogan will deliver a keynote address.
“To say that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound and lasting impact on our state, our communities and our economy would be an understatement,” said Maryland Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Christine Ross. “At a time when we are still navigating uncharted waters in pursuit of recovery, we are thrilled to bring together our governor along with public health and economic experts to discuss the implications of the pandemic and the effect that it has and will have on Maryland’s job creators.”
“Maryland businesses have experienced unprecedented challenges over the past year, and we are pleased to sponsor a virtual event that will help navigate a path forward,” said Sabina Kelly, greater Maryland market president at Bank of America. “Coming together to listen and learn from one another is a small step in the right direction to support our local communities and help Marylanders get back on track.”
Panelists for State of the State include Janet Currie, greater Maryland market manager of Bank of America, Brian Pieninck, president and CEO of CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield, Tom Barkin, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and Kevin Sowers, president of the Johns Hopkins Health System and EVP of Johns Hopkins Medicine. More panelists to be announced in the coming weeks.
State of the State is a ticketed event and will be attended by business leaders from all industry sectors across our state. Tickets can be purchased on the Maryland Chamber website here for $25 for members and $50 for non-members.
