Kaplan University’s MD campuses acquired by Purdue University

Indiana’s Purdue University announced plans in late April to acquire Maryland Chamber of Commerce member Kaplan University. The mostly online institution has campuses in Rockville and Hagerstown, as well as 13 others across the country, which Purdue plans to operate under a new name. Purdue will create a new global university that will provide outstanding career-oriented higher education to adult learners. The new public institution, which is yet to be named, will combine Purdue’s outstanding academic reputation and commitment to expanding access with Kaplan’s innovative learning practices and focus on student outcomes.
