Maryland Chamber of Commerce Promotes Andrew Griffin to Senior Vice President of Government Affairs

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Andrew Griffin, the organization’s vice president of government affairs, has been promoted to senior vice president of government affairs effective immediately.

“The Board Executive Committee is proud to announce Andrew’s well-earned promotion to this critical role,” said Gracelyn McDermott, Chair of the Chamber Board. “His work over the last three and a half years has positioned the Chamber to be at the table having important and effective conversations on behalf of our 6,400+ members throughout the state.”

“Andrew has provided strategic, astute legislative support to the Maryland business community throughout his time at the Chamber,” said Mary Kane, president and CEO of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. “His leadership has played a critical role in shaping polices that make our state stronger and more competitive for business growth.”

“I am grateful for the continued opportunity to build positive relationships on behalf of the business community, and to expand upon the important advocacy work at the Chamber,” said Griffin. “Part of our mission at the Chamber is to ensure that Maryland is a place where businesses and their communities thrive, and I am eager to continue supporting such important work.”

In his new role, Griffin will continue to develop, lead and execute advocacy efforts on behalf of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber’s 6,400+ members before the Maryland General Assembly and at the federal level. Additionally, he will continue work to develop positive relationship with elected officials and members of the administration on behalf of Maryland’s business community.

Andrew has extensive experience in government relations and advocacy and holds a Master’s in Public Management from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. His work has aided in the passing of key legislation enhancing economic development, improving Maryland’s tax environment and reducing burdensome regulation.
