The Maryland Economic Development and Business Climate Commission heard from the leadership of the Maryland Chamber’s Competitiveness Coalition at its latest meeting held on Monday, June 30, at Montgomery College.
Former Maryland Chamber President Kathy Snyder, along with Coalition Co-Chairs, Bill Couper and Aris Melissaratos, told the Commission of their work to unite the business community in an effort to make Maryland a global leader in technology, innovation, and private enterprise. Maryland Competitiveness Coalition leadership briefed the commission on its work, including the Economic Summit last September, collaborative effort to develop goals and objectives, and a follow up conference to be held later this year.

The Commission, chaired by Norm Augustine, was very receptive to the Coalition’s message and asked that Coalition members continue to communicate its efforts and ideas. “The efforts of this Commission and your [Coalition] are very much in line,” said Augustine, “I know we can both benefit from working together.”
The Commission members will be invited to join the Competitiveness Coalition during its conference later this year to continue this collaborative effort to strengthen Maryland’s economy.
