Maryland Delays Opening of Small Business Health Exchange

The Maryland Health Connection, Maryland’s health care exchange, delayed the opening of the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP). SHOP was originally scheduled to open on October 1, 2013. It was pushed back to January 1, 2014 earlier this year. Last week SHOP was pushed back again to April 1, 2014.

In a November 8 announcement, the Maryland Health Connection announced that its board approved another delay “in order to allow more time for testing and coordination over the next several months.”
