Has your company reduced energy or water use or adopted other sustainable practices? Don’t keep your efforts a secret! Share your success by joining the Maryland Green Registry.
The registry is a free program that promotes and recognizes environmentally sustainable practices by organizations of all types and sizes within the State. Businesses, hospitals, churches, schools, government agencies and others are all invited to join and share the steps they’ve taken to reduce their environmental footprint and operating costs. Collectively, Maryland Green Registry members have reported saving more than $74 million annually through these practices.
To join, organizations are asked to share information on at least five environmental practices in place at their facility and at least one measurable result related to those practices. As a member, the profile you create will be posted online to demonstrate your environmental commitment and inspire others to take similar steps. Members receive information about webinars, workshops, and technical assistance programs and are encouraged to join the registry’s LinkedIn group to communicate with other members.
Members are also eligible for apply for the annual Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards. Maryland Green Registry Leaders are chosen for their strong commitment to sustainable practices, measurable results, and continual improvement. Awards applications are due April 30, 2014 and winners will be announced at the 5th Annual Maryland Green Registry Membership and Awards event in partnership with Bethesda Green on June 11, 2014.
