(October 4, 2018 – HUNT VALLEY, Md.) With bluebird skies and cinnamon-scented air, McCormick & Company cut the ribbon at its new state-of-the-art global headquarters this week in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
Employees, previous executives, Governor Larry Hogan, government leaders and distinguished guests attended the ceremony in support of the nearly 130-year-old company.
McCormick Chairman, President and CEO Lawrence Kurzius said, “Our move to one global headquarters is a transformative step for McCormick – it exemplifies our continued commitment to the Baltimore region and the future of our truly global company.”
The newly-designed modern facility intends to bring the McCormick’s “passion for flavor to life.” It includes open floor plans to foster collaboration and innovation, state-of-the-art test kitchens for product development, and an employee café with a gourmet coffee bar—all while being LEED Gold certified. Murals throughout tell the rich history of the brand, from paintings of Light Street in downtown Baltimore to a portrait of C.P. McCormick that, when viewed closely, is a mosaic of employee faces.
“It’s clear to see that it’s the people that make the brand sparkle,” said Christine Ross, president and CEO of the Maryland Chamber.
