This month, we thank McCormick & Company’s John McCormick for his many years of service to the Maryland Chamber. McCormick will retire this year, after a distinguished career. He attended his last Maryland Chamber Board of Directors meeting this week, where Chairman Thomas H. Graham thanked him for his dedication to the Chamber over the years.
“John has been a great role model for us over the years, an example for all board members to follow,” Graham said. “He is a high integrity, people oriented, results driven leader. He is a class act and we thank him for all he has done for the Maryland Chamber.”
McCormick has served on the Maryland Chamber’s Board of Directors for many years, including eight years as a member of the Executive Committee. He also served as Chairman of the Membership Committee for several years, guiding the Chamber’s membership development efforts during tough economic times. In addition McCormick & Company is a long time Maryland Chamber annual corporate sponsor
He has generated company-wide support for the Maryland Chamber initiatives, including early support for the Maryland Competitiveness Coalition. He has hosted events at McCormick facilities and engaged member volunteers to promote Chamber initiatives. He has also led outreach efforts to develop strategic partnership with other organizations, including the World Trade Center Institute and Business Volunteers Maryland.
