New Business & Technology Cultivation Center to open in downtown Frederick

A new Business and Technology Cultivation Center is set to open on North Market Street in downtown Frederick, bringing together public institutions and private companies to exchange ideas and collaborate on tech transfers.

The new center, located at 118 N. Market Street, will also be home to the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and a second Frederick Innovative Technology Center Inc. incubator, as well as the county’s Office of Economic Development.

One hope for the center is to faciliate even more collaboration and partnerships with Fort Detrick, which runs its own technology transfer program.  Cooperative research and development agreements and relationships that allow for the exchange of ideas to benefit the community are just two of the outcomes officials are looking to foster with the new center and the FITCI incubator.
