Stevenson Appoints Aris Melissaratos as Interim Business School Dean

Stevenson University announced the appointment of Aris Melissaratos as Interim Dean of the Brown School of Business and Leadership. 

Melissaratos is a former Maryland Secretary of Business and Economic Development. He worked for more than 30 years at Westinghouse Electrical Corporation in various roles including Chief Technology Officer and Vice President for Science and Technology. Most recently, he has held key roles at the Johns Hopkins University in its Office of Enterprise Development and at the Carey School of Business. He also co-chairs the Maryland Chamber’s Maryland Competitivness Coalition. 

“Aris brings an external perspective on business and education that we believe will be of great value to our career-focused business education majors,” said Paul Lack, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Stevenson University. “The Brown School has great potential, and I am confident that his background, energy, and diverse skills will enable Aris to make great contributions in this role.”

The Brown School of Business and Leadership encompasses Stevenson’s undergraduate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Business and Computer Information Systems, Fashion Merchandising, and Paralegal Studies. Melissaratos, who will begin his new position on Thursday, July 17, brings a vast array of experience in academic, corporate, government and civic community engagements nationwide.
