Senator Delores Goodwin Kelley Honored with Public Service Award. RJ Batts, Courtney Delatorre, Ali von Paris and David White to receive the Rising Star Award.
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Two of Maryland’s most accomplished business leaders, Sheela Murthy and Mike Rosenbaum, will be inducted into the Maryland Business Hall of Fame during the Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s Inspire MD event, taking place May 11 at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. In addition to these honors, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce will also honor Senator Delores Goodwin Kelley with the 2023 Public Service Award, as well as four deserving young professionals with the 2023 Rising Star Award.
Inspire MD, presented by AT&T, is an annual celebration that gathers Maryland’s community of leaders, changemakers, entrepreneurs, influencers and professionals for an evening celebrating the people and organizations that make Maryland unique. - Sheela Murthy, Founder & President, Murthy Law Firm
An accomplished entrepreneur, philanthropist, community leader, public speaker and internationally recognized U.S. immigration lawyer, Sheela Murthy is the founder and president of Murthy Law Firm, which is today recognized as one of the world’s premier U.S. immigration law firms. Murthy also co-founded the nonprofit MurthyNAYAK Foundation, dedicated to implementing socially transformative projects designed to improve the lives of women, children and immigrants.
- Mike Rosenbaum, Founder of Catalyte and Arena Analytics
Mike Rosenbaum is a Baltimore-based entrepreneur, active community servant and philanthropist who founded workforce-focused tech companies Catalyte and Arena Analytics, both of which aim to transform the labor market by helping organizations build more productive and equitable workforces while empowering individuals to pursue opportunities where they are most suited to thrive.

- Senator Delores Goodwin Kelley
Senator Delores Goodwin Kelley is an accomplished legislator, trailblazer and dedicated public servant who served in the House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate for a combined total of 32 years. Recognized as one of the longest serving members of the Maryland Senate, Kelley served on numerous committees, commissions, task forces and advisory councils, and also worked for 31 years as a professor and eventual dean at Coppin State University.

- RJ Batts, Inventor & CEO, Picklehead LLC
RJ Batts is an inventor and the CEO of Picklehead, LLC, a Maryland company that RJ founded at just twelve years of age. RJ is also the inventor of Tip Tough(R) a simple, inexpensive and innovative product that can be used to protect chefs’ fingers and hands when cutting, slicing and preparing food.
- Courtney Delatorre, Analyst – Defense Affairs, Emergent BioSolutions
Courtne DeLatorre is an analyst with Emergent BioSolutions, a Maryland company that develops, manufactures and delivers protections against public health threats through a pipeline of innovative vaccines and therapeutics worldwide. Courtney’s tremendous leadership and initiative have contributed significantly to strengthening the environment of diversity, equity and inclusion at Emergent BioSolutions.
- Ali von Paris, CEO & Founder, Route One Apparel
Ali von Paris is the Founder & CEO of Route One Apparel, a Maryland small business that creates, sells and distributes Maryland-themed apparel and accessories. An entrepreneur, small business owner and active community member, Ali has grown Route One Apparel into a highly respected brand and one of the fastest-growing companies in the state.
- David White, Tomorrow’s Bio Today
David White is the Founder and CEO of Tomorrow’s Bio Today, a Maryland company dedicated to improving technology and diagnostic capabilities. An entrepreneur and inventor, Mr. White designed an ingestible tablet camera system configured to capture and quickly transmit images of internal organs. His invention builds and significantly improves upon existing tools for examining and diagnosing vessel diseases, digestive diseases and cancers in humans and animals.
