Murthy Law Firm Founder and President Sheela Murthy was recently honored by the United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) with the Clementine Peterson Award.
Murthy was the 44th recipient of the annual award, which honors a member of UWCM’s Women’s Leadership Council for their commitment, expertise and volunteer service. Murthy was recognized for her leadership and service to the United Way. She served on the UWCM board of directors, and as an active leader on the organization’s Women’s Leadership Council she has mentored countless women executives. She was also honored for her efforts international efforts on behalf of United Way Worldwide to build a culture of philanthropy in her native India and in other developing countries.
“It’s been an honor and a privilege to work with UWCM for all these years, and it’s bittersweet to be moving on, but I leave knowing that I’ve made a lasting contribution to a better world, and knowing that our extraordinary leadership team will carry on this important work with the same energy and dedication that I brought to the Board,” Murthy said.
