Westminster-based Startup Skayl Receives Navy Research Grant

Skayl, a systems integration firm launched earlier this summer, announced it has received a Navy Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant.

The company plans to use the added resources to address the next level of sophistication in solving a very specific integration complexity problem: behavior. Since coming onto the data mediation scene this year, Skayl has already established itself as a provider of one of the most powerful solutions addressing data mediation and architecture, protocol bridging, and integration at scale. The grant will allow the company to break into a whole new level of advancement.

“We could not be more grateful for this incredible opportunity and to be recognized by the United States Navy for our efforts in systems integration,” Gordon Hunt, Skayl principal investigator said. “We take adherence to FACE technical standards very seriously, and this grant is in-part a reflection of that level of commitment.”

In addition to Skayl’s specialty in building scalable systems from the ground up, the company also offers automated software integration via its modeling wizard software for the FACE Technical standard. The product makes developing verifiable interfaces for the FACE standard simple, and dramatically reduces development and production time.

“The modeling wizard is just one way we are taking workflows from weeks to hours, and we look forward to using this grant to push the boundaries even further than what we are currently doing,” Hunt said.
